Do you know who the 33rd president of the U.S.A was? If you're thinking Harry S. Truman you're correct! He was president for two terms and was the first president from Missouri.
President Truman was born May 8th 1884 in Independence, Missouri. He grew up with his parents and a brother but no sisters. Truman had poor vision so he couldn't read the small print in books, he later got glasses and was called four eyes by the other kids. President Harry S. Truman did go to school and graduate from college. His childhood had its ups and downs.
President Truman is a famous Missourian because he was the first president from Missouri. As president he had a wife named Bess Wallace. Truman was president because he succeeded Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was president for 8 years.Truman gave orders for the Atomic Bomb to be dropped on Japan. He also helped America win world war II . These are only a few of Truman's achievements.
Later in life, Harry S. Truman read a lot of books because that was one thing he still enjoyed doing. He was inducted in The hall of famous Missourians. Truman had one daughter named Margaret Truman. Truman died at 88 years old because of lung and organ failure on the 26th day of December, he and his wife are buried at the Truman Library.
