Fun Read, Jake Is Lost

Jake is a young penguin, and loves to explore. He was looking at a new rock when his parents go to talk to friends. He proceeds to look at rocks that are farther away from home than the first one was. He was walking the other way!

He continues exploring for a while and then turns around to go back to his nest. He can't find his parents or his nest so he walks in the general direction of the nest as he recalls where it is. "MOM AND DAD!!!" He yelled, hoping that his parents were around and could hear him yell. He starts crying because his parents weren't around to hear him.

He walks in the same direction for a while and passes his friends and their parents and asks them if they have seen his parents. All of them said that they had come by and had asked where he was. He was crying even harder now. He couldn't find his parents!!

Jake was still walking but the tears in his eyes were making his vision quite blurry and he bumped into a plump penguin who was standing next to another penguin. Of course Jake was still crying and the adults were missing a kid so they asked him what was wrong and he looks up and notices him mom's smile and his dad's beak. "There you are mom and dad!" he yelled with, not tears of sadness but tears of joy. They were equally as happy because they had finally found their son.

Poem, Homework

I don't have my homework because...
     My dinner was steak,
     my bus was late,
and I had soccer at 8.
I don't have my homework because...
     I didn't get back till 9,
     my stomach didn't feel fine,
and in my homework I forgot to rhyme.
I don't have my homework because...
     I couldn't find a shirt,
     my brother was eating dirt,
and I got really badly hurt.
I will accept any punishment like...
     Cleaning up the house,
     eating a whole entire mouse,
     and wearing my mom's blouse.
